Franklin Township purchases generator

Franklin Township trustees will be purchasing a generator to provide auxiliary power in emergency situations.

At their Oct. 1 meeting, trustees voted to spend $29,620 for a 45-kilowatt generator for the fire station on Frank Road.

Road Superintendent Jim Stevens said four bids had been received for the generator, and Electric Services Professionals had submitted the lowest bid.

Fire Chief Rick Howard said this is the company that sold the township the generator for the station on Sullivant Avenue and said everyone was happy with that service.

“It provided power for five hours recently,” Howard said.

The next meeting of the Franklin Township trustees will be held Oct.15.
