Pickerington grads to be inducted into Hall of Fame
Two Pickerington graduates will be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame Oct. 4. Inducted are H. Lewis Stemen, former assistant superintendent and teacher, and televangelist Dr. Rodney L. Parsley. The ceremony will be held at the American Legion Hall, 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington. The reception will begin at 5 p.m., said Kathy Kelly-Long of the Pickerington Education Foundation (PEF). The Alumni Hall of Fame was established in 1994. Kelly-Long noted that honorees were selected through a committee that included school district staff and members of the PEF. This is the first year that the school district has been a partner with the PEF in these presentations. Superintendent Dr. Karen Mantia will present the keynote speech titled "We are Pickerington." The PEF is a charitable organization that was founded in 2004 by parents and community members to support and enrich the education process of all students in the Pickerington Local School District. PEF provides support to all areas of the core curriculum, arts, health and physical education, special needs and counseling in every building in the district.
