Westside health facility to open Monday

The long awaited Columbus West Family Health and Wellness Center, 2300 W. Broad St., Columbus, will officially open to the public on Monday.

According to Columbus Public Health’s Web site, new 35,000 square foot Family Health and Wellness Center will host the Columbus Neighborhood Health Center (CNHC) and Columbus Public Health’s Women Infant and Children (WIC) program. CNHC’s West Side Center will offer primary care services, including OBGYN, podiatry, dental, family practice, nutrition services, immunizations and pediatric services.

The center is expected to serve more than 7,200 patients a year with more than 22,000 visits, tripling the number provided at the previous center. Columbus Public Health’s WIC program will serve more than 4,200 neighborhood residents.

The modern facility replaces the former Hilltop Health Center on Sullivant Avenue, which will close today.

The environmentally friendly facility, located in the former home of Fire Station #17, supports the Mayor’s Get Green Initiative and is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building.
