No parking on S. Grener

Motorists looking for a place to park their cars need not look on S. Grener Avenue.

Prairie Township trustees approved a no parking resolution for the area at their Aug. 26 meeting. The resolution will establish no parking zones on S. Grener Avenue from Sullivant Avenue to Stiles Street permanently.


“We anticipate Grener being a major thoroughfair,” said Trustee Steve Kennedy.
The safety of the residents and construction of curbs and gutters are the main reasons behind the parking prohibition, Kennedy added. 

“The whole purpose of reconstructing (Grener) is to take out hills and address the line-of-sight issue and put in sidewalks that have never been there before,” he said.

In other news, Township Administrator Tracy Hatmaker reminded residents of a second and final street sweeping for the year to take place Sept. 8 from 7 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The sweeping will move from east to west.
