Tours of historic Eastside planned

Olde Towne East enjoys a rich architectural heritage that includes four historic districts.

These tours review Olde Towne East's early history and include a lively discussion of the business and civic leaders who grew the area in the late 19th century.

A broad range of architectural styles will be featured including Italianate, Colonial, Federal, Greek Revival, Queen Anne, and Colonial Revival.

Each tour lasts approximately 1-1/2 hours, weather permitting. Comfortable shoes and sunblock are recommended.

Tour dates are from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 23, 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 12, 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 20 and 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 17.

Tour goers should meet at the Columbus Music Hall/Fire house No. 12, 734 Oak St. Cost is $8 to OTENA members and $10 for nonmembers.
