Governor Ted Strickland, staff from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and a biology class from Franklin Heights High School gathered at Battelle Darby Metro Park for an Earth Day program to monitor the stream quality in the Bid Darby. Together, they learned about and used a variety of biological testing techniques such as electroshocking, searching for macroinvetegrates and chemical analysis to assess water quality and observe changes in the Big Darby. Above, Strickland, Scott Reynard and David Thompson gather their sampling of macroinvertebrates while ODNR Director Sean Logan looks on. |
