Suspects in arson and bombs threats caught

The Pickerington Police Department has apprehended the individual who allegedly set fire to two school district vans Feb. 16.

Christopher D. Hoar, 18, a former student, was arrested at 3 p.m. Feb. 23 and charged with four counts of breaking entering, two counts of possession of criminal tools, one count of vandalism and one count of arson. Bond has been set for $75,000.

Another student, who was also allegedly involved in the arson, is currently facing expulsion.

District officials in conjunction with the Pickerington Police Department have also identified two students in connection with the threats made at Pickerington High School Central and Pickerington Ridgeview Junior High School. Those students are facing expulsion and possible criminal charges.
