Messenger to publish bi-weekly
Tough times call for strong, decisive actions. Business must be nimble, flexible, and look to the future to adapt to changing times. In the news business this means taking advantage of the ever-widening array of information sources and outlets available and to do whatever it takes to remain a vital, vibrant member of the community. As with so many others across Ohio and the nation, the newspaper industry has faced the one-two punch of increased competition and the increased cost of doing business. No one is immune in this harsh economic environment but we at the Columbus Messenger are committed to maintaining and enhancing the paper’s rich history as the most reliable, most widely-read news source in your community. With that in mind, beginning Feb. 16, the Columbus Messenger Newspapers announces the initiation of a bi-weekly home delivery schedule for our print newspaper and our enhanced online service. Our weekly online service at www.columbusmessenger.com will provide the up-to-date, in depth coverage of local news our readers rely on while the move to a bi-weekly home delivery of our print edition allows us to deliver broader, more robust coverage of the news that affects our readers everyday. Look for the next print version of the Messenger on your doorstep beginning Feb. 23. Our editors, reporters, and advertisers will continue to bring you the same in depth local news coverage, features, photos, news briefs, and columns the Columbus Messenger has been delivering since 1974 just with a wider variety of choices to meet the needs of our diverse readers. In addition to free online access to our electronic news service, mail subscriptions will be extended and subscribers will receive the same number of newspapers originally purchased. Those submitting voluntary payments will now receive a full year of home delivery for a $9 payment and a full two years for an $18 payment. Sign up today at www.columbusmessenger.com to initiate online delivery and start receiving e-mail notices and alerts of breaking news. We thank you for your readership and loyalty over the past 35 years and we look forward to a bright future providing the highest level of service to our readers and advertisers.
