The Historic Hilltop bean Dinner, which was held at Westgate Park June 28, brought in big crowds despite the threat of storms. Nicholas Davis, 4, of the Westside, challenged himself by crossing the rope walk provided by Boy Scouts of America Troop 18.

Face painting, which was provided by Immanuel Baptist Church, was a big attraction in the Children’s Area, as demonstrated by the Westside’s Alleeyah Vanek, 12.

“Balloon Guy” Christopher Merz was kept busy all day. Children all over the park could be seen toting his works of art.

Cars in the Park took place in conjunction with the Bean Dinner.
