Juanita Phillips moves past 12-year-old Joshua Rood in the first heat of the Gladden Community House 3rd Annual Downhill Derby held May 31. Phillips, 14, went on to take second place in the event.

Taylor Buskirk, 14, starts her first ride of the day down the long derby hill at Big Run Park. Buskirk won the best of show award for the car built by she and her father, James Blackburn. This is the third year for the Derby, in which participants raced in 17 heats to determine winners, as well as awards voted on by spectators.
