The second annual Mission Ensign walk and run to raise funds to help Groveport Madison High School teacher Kristine Ensign was held Nov. 10 at Groveport Madison High School. Events included a one mile walk on the track at Cruiser Stadium and a 5K run on the cross country trail. Ensign, pictured here in a golf cart preparing to lead the one mile walk, continues to fight a battle against a rare form of cancer called angiosarcoma. The money raised is donated directly to Ensign to help in her fight. "Not only is Kristine a great teacher, but she also teaches lessons that you don't get out of a book," said Groveport Madison High School teacher Kelli DelGuzzo. Ensign travels to Houston monthly for treatment and also receives treatment at The James. Donations may be made online by visiting http://www.wepay.com/donations/mission-ensign. All money raised goes to the Mission Ensign account.

Yellow balloons were released at the start of the one mile walk.

Amy Castle finished the 5K run strong. "Kristine Ensign is one of the most selfless, inspiring and positive women I know," said Castle, a member of the high school student council. "It's great to see all the people who came out to support her today."
