The new location for AMVETS Post 1928 will have its grand opening  from 1-4 p.m. on Sept. 9 at 3780 W. Broad Street. Originally founded in the village of Obetz in the early 1950s, the post relocated to the Westside in 1996, said Steve Rutherford, 3rd vice commander for Post 1928. Tumbleweed Steakhouse and Spinners formerly owned the present building. All veterans are invited to attend and are reminded to bring their DD 214 in the event they want to join.
