Exhibit honors veteran

A special Veteran’s Day exhibit honoring U.S. Army veteran and long-time Pickerington resident, Fred Weber, can be seen at the Pickerington-Violet Township Historical Society Museum, 15 E. Columbus St. in Olde Pickerington Village.

Weber served in the active military for more than 36 years including campaigns in WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. He died at the age of 81 in 2006.

Weber’s collection of medals, including his “Military Order of Purple Heart” jacket and Bronze Star, are on display, along with photographs, plaques and some of his writings. The items were loaned to the museum for this special exhibit by his widow, Anna Weber, a Pickerington resident and member of the historical society.

The Weber Exhibit can be seen throughout November during the Pickerington-Violet Township Historical Society Museum’s regular Saturday hours, which are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the museum is free.
