Residents asked to name new park
Westland Area Commission (WAC) is asking for resident input with naming the public park being developed near West Broad Street and Alton & Darby Creek Road. They want the name to be historically significant to the Westland area. Residents may view a display of the park layout and three proposed playgrounds designs by visiting the Westland Area Library, 4740 W. Broad St. Suggestions for a name can be written down and submitted to the Westland Area Library at the information desk. Votes may also be cast on which playground design residents prefer. The WAC will select names to submit, then the final decision for the name and selection of playground rests with the City of Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks. Voting and name suggestions will be open through July 19 and entries will be presented at the July 20 WAC meeting. For information contact WAC Chairman, Linda Pitts at 878-1301 or WAClpitts@aol.com
