The Madison-Plains Local School District has placed a bond issue request on the Aug. 3 special election ballot. To enhance participation in the election and eliminate wait times at polling locations, the Madison County Board of Elections mailed postage-paid absentee applications to voters in the school district. Voters who did not receive an absentee application in the mail but would like to vote absentee can visit the Board of Elections, 117 W. High St., Suite 102, call (740) 852-9424 or visit www.co.madison.oh.us to receive an absentee application.
Voters in the village of Mt. Sterling and Pleasant Township have a new polling location. Voters in the Mount Sterling North, Mount Sterling South, Pleasant East and Pleasant West precincts now vote at the Mt. Sterling Community Center, 164 E. Main St.
Due to construction at the London High School, voters from the Union East and Union West precincts will enter the building using a different entrance. Signs will be posted directing voters to the entrance and to the room where voters will vote. This change will be for the Aug. 3 special election only.
