The second annual Mission Ensign walk and run will be held at 9 a.m. on Nov. 10 at Groveport Madison High School. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
A one mile walk will be held on the track at Cruiser Stadium. A 5K run will also be held on the cross country trail.
Groveport Madison High School is celebrating and supporting one of its own, teacher Kristine Ensign, who continues to fight a battle against a rare form of cancer, angiosarcoma. At last year’s walk, led by Manda Moberly, the Groveport Madison student council raised over $9,000 that was donated directly to Ensign to help in her fight. Ensign continues to travel to Houston monthly for treatment and also receives treatment at The James. For information visit http://www.wepay.com/donations/mission-ensign. Donations can be made online or in person. Checks are made payable to Mission Ensign. All money raised goes to the Mission Ensign account.
Other fund raising efforts include:
•Nov. 2: Dairy Queen benefit at the Groveport location. Mention Mission Ensign when making your purchase.
•Nov. 6: Flyers Pizza benefit day. Mention Mission Ensign when making your purchase. Last year, Flyers donated 20 percent of the proceeds totalling $700. This year Flyers has donated two $25 gift cards to give away on the day of the walk.
•Mission Ensign t-shirts are for sale for $10.
