Issue results: Nov. 5 general election

The following are unofficial results for issues that appeared on the Nov. 5, 2013, general election, as provided by the Madison County Board of Elections. The top vote getters are marked with a (•).

The board will certify the official results by Nov. 26 as required by law. The official results will account for any absentee ballots postmarked by Nov. 4 and received by Nov. 15, as well as any provisional ballots cast on Nov. 5. Provisional ballots are those cast by voters whose registrations are not up-to-date, usually due to a name change or address change.

Of the 23,485 registered voters in Madison County, 5,256 cast ballots, making for a 22 percent voter turnout.

 

Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities

(1-mill, five-year tax levy renewal for Fairhaven programs)

• For the levy                 3,647  (70.61%)

Against the levy            1,518  (29.39%)

 

Madison-Plains Local Schools

(2.5-mill, five-year tax levy renewal for permanent improvements)

• For the levy                 941  (59.11%)

Against the levy            651  (40.89%)

 

Sterling Joint Ambulance District

(Levy No. 1—1.5-mill, five-year tax levy for current expenses)

• For the levy                 642  (75.71%)

Against the levy            206  (24.29%)

(Levy No. 2—1.5-mill, five-year tax levy for current expenses)

• For the levy                 603  (71.70%)

Against the levy            238  (28.30%)

 

Village of Plain City

(Additional 0.25 percent income tax for police department expenses)
