The South Charleston Heritage Commission will host its 19th annual Gingerbread Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at the DT&I Depot and Log House Museum, 147 W. Mound St., South Charleston.
Local vendors will be on hand with items for sale. Food will be served, including plenty of homemade gingerbread, the commission’s famous bean soup, and more. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be given by Willow Wind Carriage Service. Tours of the c.1820 log settlers’ house will be given, with cooking demonstrations done over the open hearth fire. Live music by the Springfield Dulcimer Society will round out the family-friendly day.
Vendors can call 937-462-8905 for more information about setting up a booth or table. All proceeds will assist the Heritage Commission, a federally-recognized, non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote and protect the history of South Charleston.
