The Mending Hearts Beating "Family Fun Day" is set for noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at Fairhaven School, 1501 State Route 38 SE, London. There will be food, fun and games, starting with a chili cook-off at noon.
Activities include corn hole, a bounce house, silent auction, crafts, face painting, a free-throw challenge, and music by the band, Posse. Some activities will be in the gym and some will be outside. Concessions by donation will include chili, hot dogs, walking tacos, and chicken and noodles.
Mended Hearts Beating is a group whose members were either born with a heart defect or have a child who was born with one. Their mission is to raise awareness of the number one birth defect, congenital heart disease. All proceeds from Family Fun Day and the group’s other fund-raising efforts go to the Ohio Chapter of the Children’s Heart Foundation. The foundation funds research for the prevention and treatment of heart defects.
