Eastside events for week of Oct. 30

Turkey shoot
The Summit Station Lions Club will hold its annual turkey shoot at the club on Summit Road, south of Broad Street every Sunday through Nov. 27. Signups at 10 a.m. First shoot starts at noon.
Theater fundraiser
The Pickerington Community Theatre will host its third annual charity auction to benefit the organization from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 10 at Rule(3) Entertainment Center, 650 Windmiller Drive, Pickerington.
A few of the many items up for bid include an OSU basketball autographed by Coach Thad Matta, four park-hopper passes to Disney World and private music lessons in voice, piano, drum or guitar at 88 Keys Music Studio.

Antique show
Pickerington High School Central will host an antique and craft show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5. The show, which will feature hundreds of high-quality antiques and handcrafted items. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for senior citizens. Children younger than 12 are free.
Pickerington Lions Club to celebrate 65th anniversary
The Pickerington Lions Club will celebrate its 65 years of service to the Pickerington area on Nov. 5 at the Pickerington Senior Center, 150 Hereford Drive.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a social time featuring appetizers and beverages. The program will begin at 7 p.m. with dinner following. The guest speaker will be Jackie Christensen, president of the Canal Winchester Lions Club, who will present and comment on Helen Kellers famous 1925 speech to the Lions International Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio, in which she asked Lions to adopt the cause of the blind.
It is expected that Lions from all over the state will attend. Members of the public are invited as well. Cost to attend is $20 per person. For reservations or for information, call Brian Fox at (614) 833-4728 or email at
All guests will receive a special, limited-edition Lions collector pin commemorating the clubs 65th anniversary.
The club also plans to roll out its newly published official history. Written by club president Brian Fox after extensive research of the Lions records going back to the beginning of the club in 1946, the book looks at the clubs activities and service to the community from the beginning to the present. It also contains a historical roster of club members. The club is publishing it through and will print only the number of books ordered. The book can be ordered for $38 through the club. 
At the Pickerington Library
The following events will be held at the Pickerington Public Library, 201 Opportunity Way, (614) 837-4104:
•Free computer classes for adults. Classes are limited. For information and registration call (614) 837-4104 ext. 233.
•Oct. 31 from 1-3 p.m.: Trick or Treat @at Your Library. Dress in costume and trick or treat your way through the library.
Senior directory available
The Senior Directory of Fairfield County for 2011-2012 from the Ohio Seniors Network has been released and is being distributed at a variety of locations throughout the county for free pickup.
Pickup locations include libraries and senior centers. A complete list is available by contacting the Ohio Seniors Network at (614) 545-1288.
The directory has been created to provide an independent resource to people older than 50 and those who care for them as a way to find services, expert information and news in each county of Ohio. Resource listings cover areas of concern to seniors including hospital care, home health care, exercise, financial planning, elder law and more.
