The Southeast Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 3980 S. Hamilton Road, offers the following programs (for information call 645-2275):
Baby Laptime and Storytime:
•Baby Laptime is for ages birth to 18 months and their caregivers. Twenty minutes of fun bouncing rhymes, stories and songs, and time for play. Wednesdays at 11 a.m. from Jan. 11 through May 16.
•Toddler Storytime is for children ages 18 months to age 3. Sessions are 20-30 minutes. Caregiver must stay in the room with the child. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. from Jan. 10 through May 17.
•Preschool Storytime is for ages 3-6 years. Sessions are 30-35 minutes. Caregiver participation is welcome and encouraged. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. from Jan. 10 through May 17.
•Family Storytime is for all ages. Sessions are 30-35 minutes. Caregiver participation is welcome and encouraged. Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. from Jan. 11 through May 19.
•Winter Wonderland Fun on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. Fun stories, songs and activities celebrating the joys of winter. For families.
•Character Love from Feb. 1-14. Vote for the book character you love the most. Winner will be revealed on Valentine’s Day.
•Ready to Read Round-Up on Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. Activities to help your child to become Ready to Read! Help your child explore activities based on the "6 Ready to Read skills." For ages 18 months to age 6.
•Family Fun Drum Circle with Shirley Parish on Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. Box drums, conga, djun djun, and other percussion instruments. Limbo and dance and games included. For families.
•Seussabration on March 3 at 2 p.m. Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with fantastical stories, whimsical activities, and more. For families.
•Hungry Caterpillar Celebration on April 28 at 2 p.m. Celebrate Eric Carle’s classic, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," with stories, songs, activities and a butterfly release. Also, a special visit from the "Hungry Caterpillar." For families.
•Tween Gaming the last Monday each month at 4 p.m. For ages 8-11.
•Teen Gaming every Tuesday at 4 p.m. Enjoy Wii, PS2, and group games with your friends. For ages 12-17.
•Homework Help Center on Sundays 1-5 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 4-7 p.m. Students will find everything they need to complete their homework – friendly volunteers, computers, school supplies, and a welcoming atmosphere for studying and learning. For grades K-12.
