Friends of Westgate Park to hold spring event

Friends of Westgate Park will hold a “Bring on the Spring!” event to help residents shake off the winter blues with an evening of food, wine and friends.
Guests will also hear what’s in store for Westgate Park at the event, which will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 26 at the home of Sue Laughlin, 2977 Palmetto St., Columbus.

Friends of Westgate Park is an organization responsible for helping to beautify the park through tree plantings, flower beds, cleanups and other special projects, such as the “Heroes of Camp Chase” mural. FoWP partners with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department to advocate for special attention for Westgate Park.
This event will be an opportunity to learn about what has been going on in the park and what is planned for 2011 and the coming years, including a renovation of the enclosed shelter house.
