Snapshots from the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall visit

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall visited Pickerington this weekend, drawing thousands of visitors to see the wall that is three-fifths the size of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. The wall will be on display at the American Legion Post 283 through Nov. 15. The post is located at 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington.

A "Because of You, Unknown Soldier" poem lies on the ground next to the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall, along with a pair of angel wings. Several bouquets of flowers were placed along the base of the memorial wall, some with personal notes.

Kim Braskie and her daughter Tigan Braskie traveled from Union Township to see the wall. Kim Braskie's father is a Vietnam veteran. A personal note with a photo of a Vietnam soldier is placed at the base of the wall. Several notes lined the grounds, some from family members and others from friends.
