Club meetings for week of Nov. 14


 

Quilting group
“Quilting Ect.,” a newly organized fellowship handwork group, will meet at Brookwood Presbyterian Church, 2685 E. Livingston Ave., on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church library. Learning new skills, as well as practicing old skills, while enjoying the fellowship of others is the organization’s purpose. Participants are invited to come with their own quilting, knitting or other handwork project, or explore the available materials and projects provided. Susan Gooslin, an experienced quilter, leads the group and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. Participation in the program is free and open to the community. Pickerington Garden Club
A program with members creating their own live topiary will be held at Fisher's Garden Center in Reynoldsburg Nov. 17. Club members and guests will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and will travel to Fisher's Gardens for the program, which will start at 1 p.m. Visitors and new members are welcomed. Pickerington Area Kiwanis
The Pickerington Area Kiwanis has changed the location of its luncheon meetings. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. at Romeo’s Pizza, 80 W. Reynoldsburg Democrats
The Reynoldsburg Democrat Club will convene every Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Truro Townshop Fire Station, 6900 E. Main St. Refreshments will be served. For more information, e-mail jamesandlang@gmail.com.
 
Reynoldsburg-Truro Township Historical Society
The Reynoldsburg Truro Historical Society will hold its monthly open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 20. The museum is located at 1485 Jackson St., opposite Hannah Ashton Middle School. This month features a book sale and display of a recently discovered signature quilt from 1890. Free admission, plenty of parking in back and refreshments are included. Women’s Republican Club

NAWIC Columbus Chapter
The Columbus Chapter of NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) will hold its next meeting on Nov. 17 at Custom Air, located at 935 Claycraft Road, Gahanna. The general members meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Invited guests and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a speaker presentation at 6:45 p.m. November’s speaker is Mary Moreland, Tomboy Tools consultant and NAWIC member. Moreland will display and demonstrate Tomboy Tools, as well as provide a friendly competition using some Tomboy Tools.
 
Violet Twp. Women’s League
The Violet Township Women’s League will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the American Legion Hall, 7725 Refugee Road. The league is collecting items for several needy families in time for Christmas. Membership is open to all women in the Pickerington area. This month’s meeting is “baking for the holidays.” December’s meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14. This meeting will be the annual holiday party and gift exchange.
