Merit pay raises reinstituted for Groveport village employees
(by Rick Palsgrove, Southeast Editor - August 24, 2010)
Groveport Village Council voted 5-1 to allow village employee to receive merit pay increases.
Councilman Ed Rarey was the lone dissenting vote taken at council's Aug. 23 meeting.
Groveport Finance Director Ken Salak said merit pay increases would be for full time eligible employees only and can range from zero to 4.5 percent. He said the cost to the village for the employee merit pay increases over 12 months would be approximately $120,000. The merit pay increases could be instituted over the next 30 days.
According to Salak, village employees have not had merit pay increases since 2008 due to the tight economy and cutbacks in the village budget.
