Carnival

On Aug. 28, the field between Olive Street and Center Street in London will be transformed from grass and Queen Anne's lace to a free carnival hosted by the Madison County Vineyard. From the church's parking lot, an arch of helium balloons will sprout to greet and welcome children, families, friends and neighbors to a day of celebration. A bounce house, giant slide (32' Long X 26' High X 20' Wide), pony rides, barrel ride and dunk tank will fill the normally quiet field.  Tents will cover craft tables, face painters, and carnival games where players can win prizes. Inside the church, the smells of tasty hot dogs, freshly popped popcorn, syrupy sno cones and sweet sugary spun cotton candy will greet those who hunger for treats. Meanwhile music from the stage area will entertain guests who may just sit with friends and chat or join with the kids as they enjoy the rides and attractions. At 6 p.m. the Vineyard Worship Team will take the stage and, after the rides have stopped, the food has been eaten, balloons given away and the carnival is closed, the church will focus on worship. Everyone is welcome to join in during this outside service. Everything is free.
