Mad Cow road rally set for Aug. 14

(by Kristy Zurbrick, Madison Editor - July 28, 2010)

The Madison County MAD COW Road Rally will tour Madison County on Aug. 14. The Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the event.

The rally is open to all street legal vehicles, including motorcycles, of all makes and models. The route starts at the Cheese House at 9870 U.S. Route 42 S. in Plain City. Participants will gather starting at 9 a.m. for networking and information before heading out at about 10.

The nearly 100-mile route will take vehicles and their passengers through Madison County’s best scenery, attractions and fun winding roads. Participants will have to find scavenger hunt items (for points) and answer questions about each location (points for each correct answer) as they navigate the route. The event is not timed and is not a race. It ends in West Jefferson at a mystery location at approximately 3 p.m.

Interested participants can learn more and download a registration form at www.madisoncountyohio.org. The cost to enter a car and one driver is $35, which includes 1 MAD COW Road Rally t-shirt. There is no cost for additional participants or passengers. Extra Road Rally t-shirts will be sold for $15 per person. Area businesses are invited to take part as sponsors or exhibitors.

“We are looking forward to bringing this excellent tourism opportunity back to Madison County for a second year,” said David Jackson, marketing and resource development director with the Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The participants last year had a great time and we expect even more fun this year.”
