Ohio's First Lady tours county fair

 Ohio's First Lady, Frances Strickland, visits the Grange Hall at the Madison County Fair on July 17. Frances Strickland, wife of Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, toured the Madison County Fair on July 17.
She made stops at the Grange Hall, where she talked to John and Jan Stahl, a husband-wife team from London who volunteer their time in many ways to the fair.
At the FFA Barn, Bianca Rice, president of the Madison-Plains FFA Chapter, and Tadd Bailey, president of the London FFA Chapter, informed Strickland of the various projects FFA members exhibit at the fair.
After a brief trip through the Beef Barn, Strickland said “hello” to the crowd gathered in the Youth Arena for the Junior Fair Livestock Sale.
She then checked out the garden clubs’ flower display in the Quonset building, before heading to the Della Selsor Building to present a proclamation from the governor honoring Madison County’s Bicentennial. The county was founded 200 years ago.
Following the bicentennial presentation, the Junior Fair Board presented the First Lady with flowers and a gift in appreciation of her visit.
