Kissing cancer good-bye
Brad Barnes is not your average beauty pageant contestant. For his wife, Sue, he dressed up in an evening gown and pink wig for the Miss Grove City Relay contest. The event was held on June 18 at the Relay for Life event at Grove City High School. Here, Barnes sits on Mark Stoll as he collects money to win the crown. Barnes survived kidney cancer. His wife is fighting breast, bone, liver and lung cancer. She said she was very proud of her husband for his efforts in Miss Grove City Relay. Barnes did not get the crown. That honor went to Don Brewer from the Grove City Noon Lions Club. To date, the Grove City relay has raised nearly $116,000 for the American Cancer Society.
