| Pictured here is the first class to participate in Groveport's Safety Town, held June 7-11 at Groveport Presbyterian Church. The program was sponsored by the Groveport Presbyterian Church in conjunction with the Madison Township Fire Department and the Groveport Police Department. Safety Town is a national education safety awareness program for children ages 4-6. The program explored different safety topics, including poison prevention, stranger awareness, water safety, fire safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, animal safety and school bus safety. The Safety Town director, Lesli Gilden, is a master certified elementary teacher who has trained and taught this program in many other communities for the past seven years. |
