Groveport senior transportation program on the move
(by Rick Palsgrove, Southeast Editor - February 09, 2010)
The Groveport Senior Transportation program has a new home.
As of Feb. 15, the program will operate out of Groveport Recreation Center/Senior Center, 7370 Groveport Road. The new phone number for the program is 836-RIDE (7433) and the transportation coordinator is Bob Dowler.
The program previously operated out of Groveport Town Hall under the supervision of the Community Affairs Department. It is now operated by the Parks and Recreation Department.
To be eligible for the program, riders must be residents of the village of Groveport and be age 60 and above or handicapped. The program will operate Tuesday through Friday with pick ups for medical and personal purposes between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The village uses two sedans, two vans, and one freight liner bus to operate the program.
