Reynoldsburg event collects used computers for organization

If you have an old computer and have been thinking about storing it away in a closet, basement or attic, consider donating it at the Senior Citizens of Reynoldsburg Computer Reuse and Recycling Event.

The event will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Reynoldsburg Senior Citizens Center, 1520 Davidson Drive, Reynoldsburg.
This free event is in support of Free Geek Columbus (a 501.C3 non profit community assistance organization). Free Geek Columbus provides free computer training and promotes the use of open source (free) computer operating systems and software program.
Free Geek Columbus also rebuilds donated computers and provides computer systems at no charge to people needing computers. People needing computers, but who otherwise cannot afford to purchase computers and software, earn their computer system through the Free Geek Computer Adoption Program.
A $10 dollar fee for every old style glass picture tube (CRT) monitor will be assessed.   This is a direct pass through cost from Ohio E Waste, 2050 E. Williams Road, Columbus (614-497-9299). Ohio E Waste is an Ohio EPA compliant recycling center processing CRT style monitors locally.
