Diley Road expansion close to finish line
(by Rachel Scofield, Staff Writer - October 07, 2009)
By the end of October, contractors will complete most if not all of the Diley Road expansion, Pickerington Service Director Ed Drobina said.
Workers will install traffic signals the week of Oct. 11 at Columbus Street and Long Road, however the lights may not be fully operational for several weeks, Drobina said.
After Diley opens, Hill Road will close between Meadows Boulevard and the Cherry Hill subdivision to replace a damaged culvert, City Engineer Greg Bachman said.
Beheler Excavating, Inc. won the culvert job with a bid of $77,335. Engineers estimated the job would cost $90,877, Bachman said.
Work will begin once Beheler completes the storm sewer project in Olde Pickerington, Bachman said.
The project is scheduled to last one week, however should Hill Road remain closed longer than the allotted time, Beheler would pay a $1,000 per day penalty, Bachman said.
Should Beheler complete the project early, it would receive a $1,000 per day reward, Bachman said.
