Overpass will not be discussed at Sept. 29 meeting
At the Sept. 16 meeting of the Westland Area Commission, commissioner Jo Ellen Lockeannounced that representatives from the City of Columbus will be on hand at a Sept. 29, meeting of the Chesapeake Farm Block Watch to discuss a potential railroad overpass for Hilliard-Rome Road.
While the development department will be on hand at the meeting, their presence will be limited to land use planning efforts in the area. The department has begun initial steps to complete a land use plan (informally referred to as the Trabue-Roberts Plan), which covers the West Columbus Interim Development Concept territory as well as the area extending eastward to Upper Arlington.
According to Kevin Wheeler, assistant planning administrator for the development department, a Westland plan update is on the department’s list of projects to undertake.
“The Trabue-Roberts effort shares a common border with Westland. We will have a chance to consider transitional land use issues as the project gets further along,” said Wheeler.
