5K walk/run battles Lou Gehrig's disease
The Seventh Annual Marc Levison 5K Run/Walk to raise money for researching Lou Gehrig's Disease will be held Sept. 6 at Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley.
Levison, who has been confined to a wheelchair for two decades, is one of the most well known of Bexley residents.
"So many more know about ALS now," Levison said via e-mail published in a news release. Levison has lost most of his ability to move and talk from the neurological disease that has no known cure. "The researchers are working very hard. Now they have stem cells and it's not soon enough for me."
