High school athletes' summer training
The Groveport Recreation Center, 7370 Groveport Road, is offering a new membership classification for high school students who need a place to train over the summer.
"The program was developed due to the current economic conditions," said Parks and Recreation Director Kyle Lund. "Many high school students or their parents may not have the financial resources to commit to a long term membership. Also, many high school athletes may not be able to get to their school's facilities during certain hours due to other commitments, like a summer job. Many of our existing members do not workout inside the facility as often in the summer so our facility is able to accommodate more members in the summer."
The high school student summer membership runs from June 1 to Sept. 1 and can be for one to four months. Village residents pay $14 a month while non-residents pay $21. For information call 836-1000.
