Letters to the editor
Thank you for your service
I had the honor and privilege to attend the Memorial Day ceremony held at the Union Grove Cemetery in Canal Winchester on May 25.
Thank you to all the participants and those who took the time to attend this special ceremony. And a special thank you to Pat Hartman for all of her efforts to bring the ceremony together for so many years.
As I sat under a tree a young man in motorcycle leathers with wrap around sunglasses sat beside me for a while. I noticed a patch on his jacket that was inscribed that "these are my church clothes." I liked that patch. As he got up to move closer into the crowd, I noticed on the back of the jacket were words to the effect of "POWS-MIAS Are Not Forgotten." I thought this was one special person.
After listening to the outstanding and inspiring speech by the Rev. Dr. Richard Boone of Faith United Methodist Church, I thought that I must find and thank a veteran for his or her service. I must also find this young man and speak with him.
As I was leaving, he was headed towards his motorcycle. I followed him and as he was standing by his cycle, I asked him if he had served in the military. Softly, with emotion in his voice he said, "Yes." I then thanked him for his service and again with emotion in his voice he softly said, "Thank you."
As we parted, he started the bike and a wonderful roar was heard as he rode up the driveway to join a group of veterans.
And to all the veterans and their families who read this, thank you for your service.

Thank you voters
On behalf of the Committee For Better Schools, we want to thank the community and voters for supporting Groveport Madison Schools' Issue 12.
Through a team of dedicated and hard working community members, we were able to cover many events through out our school district. Teachers, administrators, staff, board of education members, senior citizens, bus drivers, business leaders, and community members pulled together to get the message to the voters. We cannot express enough what it means for the community as whole to pull together to help get the levy passed on May 5.
Thank you very much for allowing our students today to continue to excel and become leaders tomorrow!
