A good samaritan on the Westside
On Jan. 15, my wife and I were on our way back to our home on the Westside when I noticed the car steering oddly. I pulled over and saw that the right front tire was going flat. The weather was bitterly cold and the lighting in the area was bad. When I called AAA I was told that I would have a four-hour wait, so I tried to drive home. On the way, I pulled into a gas station on West Broad Street and tried to put air into the tire to no avail. The only option left was to change the tire.
A young man who was filling up at the time noticed my plight and offered to change the tire. Together, in the cold, we changed the tire. Actually, he did most of the work. The young man’s name was Jason, and he was out that night as a part of his job delivering for Josie’s Pizza. I asked what I owed him, but he said no charge.
Both my wife and I were very impressed and grateful for Jason’s aide that evening.
