Presidential inaugural to be on big screen at Drexel Theatre
The inauguration of Barack Obama will be shown at the Drexel Theatre on Jan. 20 in HD on the big screen.
Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. with complete Inaugural coverage starting at 10 a.m. on the Drexel's largest screen. Those attending will be able to watch all the Inaugural activities including the planned entertainment and speeches leading up to the swearing in of Barack Obama.
Admission to this event is free; however tickets are required and are currently available at the Drexel Theatre box-office during regular theater hours.
Millions of people are expected to be in Washington D.C. for the swearing in of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. The oath of office will be administered on the steps of the U.S. Capitol followed by Obama's inaugural address.
"We feel watching a historic event with an audience on the big screen offers a sense of presence that you can't get watching at home," Drexel president Jeff Frank said. "Seeing the festivities on a giant movie screen gives people a sense of being there for this historic occasion. And it will be much warmer than being outside on the parade route in Washington."
The theater will offer special breakfast pastries, bagels, coffee, herbal tea and juice for the event and the Radio Café will be open for additional breakfast items and lunch.
