K-9 handler Hope Ingalls and human remains detection dog Nakita carefully navigate through the rubble left behind from the West Broad St. explosion that shattered near by windows and showered debris on neighboring businesses on Oct. 31. The K-9 Response Search Team of Sunbury Ohio was called in by the Columbus Division of Fire to confirm that there were no unknown victims from the blast that hospitalized 3 Columbus firefighters. The firefighters were investigating reports of a gas leak in the Cherry Box adult book store at 2326 W. Broad St., which was created by work being done outside the book store and neighboring bar. Fire Department spokesman Doug Smith said the explosion was caused when the collection of gas reached the pilot light that firefighters were en route to putting out.
