Sue Reeds, a member of Friends of Westgate Park, tills around the Westgate Park and Recreation Center entrance sign. Reeds and about a dozen others beat the heat Saturday morning cleaning around the grounds of Westgate Park in preparation for planting later this summer. So far, the organization has planted hostas near the building and have had several members adopt plant beds around the park for upkeep. The organization is still planning future projects, including a rain garden and planting in other plant beds around the park and recreation building.
