PT to hold public meeting for Broad improvements
A public meeting will be held to discuss the future of West Broad Street and what improvements mean for the businesses and residents of the area.
The discussion will unveil the West Broad Street Streetscape Plan, as completed by the City of Columbus Planning Department, according to a press release from Prairie Township.
Residents also will receive an update on the project timeline and a chance to ask questions.
“We are trying to inform the businesses and residents of the improvements to West Broad Street and solicit their support as we try to secure funding for the project,” said Township Administrator Tracy Hatmaker.
Township officials will also discuss other improvement incentives for the West Broad Corridor, such as tax abatements for businesses expanding in the area.
The meeting will take place on Jun. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Prairie Township Administration Building, located at 23 Maple Drive.
The number Prairie Township nuisance cases is climbing with the temperature as grass grows freely on neglected properties.
Before the next meeting, township trustees will investigate eight addresses listed for overgrown grass complaints in the area, as well as five cases of excessive trash build-up.
The township will recover most of the money it spends to tame the tall lawns, according to Hatmaker
