Dan Crist (right) and his son, Alan Crist, of Canal Winchester, both marched with The Ohio State University alumni marching bands at the Buckeye football game on Sept. 22. Alan, a 2012 graduate of Canal Winchester High School, made the Ohio State marching band this year. Dan also graduated from Canal Winchester in 1976 and was in the Ohio State marching band and played bass drum from 1977-81, according to his sister Deb Demkowicz. He was voted "most inspirational bandsman" in 1981.
