Photo: Opening of Rich Street Bridge
 |
| Mayor Michael Coleman rides with two residents across the Rich Street Bridge. Westside community leaders and officials from the city of Columbus celebrated the opening of the Rich Street Bridge on July 6. This bridge reconnects the Westside to downtown and will result in area improvements and making the area more pedestrian and bicycle friendly, said city officials. The Rich Street Bridge project was built with multiple funding sources, including $3.2 million in federal earmarks and $4.24 million in Ohio Public Works Commission funding. Ground was broken for bridge construction in March 2010. It replaced the old Town Street Bridge that was demolished in 2009. |
