Mayor Michael Coleman empties a 64-gallon recycling container as he rides with Rumpke on the Westside. On June 4, the city of Columbus began the first phase of collecting recycables in Franklinton, the Hilltop and Westland areas. City officials expect around 227,000 residences to be recycling by February of next year.
