Blood drive, other Eastside events for week of Feb. 19
The Reynoldsburg Police Department will host a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Feb. 28. To donate, contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVELIFE.
Rescue group fundraiser
New Beginnings Animal Shelter will hold a “Pins for Pets” fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 25 at Sequoia Lanes, 5501 Sandlewood Blvd., Columbus.
Cost is $15 per person for three hours of bowling and shoe rental. The event will include raffles and door prizes.

Food pantry fundraiser
Messiah Lutheran Church will host a dinner fundraiser for the Lutheran Food Pantry from 4 to 7 p.m. March 3 at the church.
The dinner will include homemade chicken and noodles with a beverage and homemade desserts. Cost is $7.50 for adults in advance and $8 at the door, and $4 for children ages 3 to 10. Carry-out dinners also will be available.

Lions Club fundraiser
The Pickerington Lions Club will hold a fundraiser called “A Nite at the Races” Feb. 25 at the Pickerington Senior Center, 150 Hereford Drive.
The event begins at 7 p.m., with the first race is at 7:20 p.m. The cost is $20 per person at the door. Included in the $20 entrance fee is $10 worth of “Lions Bucks” and a $5 coupon to Senor Patron or La Fogata restaurants in Pickerington.
During the evening, a total of six previously recorded races will be shown on the big screen. Attendees may use Lions Bucks to bet on horses during the event. Quick bingo games will be played between races to also win Lions Bucks.
Lions Bucks may also be purchased during the event. The top six people with the most Lions Bucks at the end of the evening will split $1,000 in cash, with the first-place person winning $300.
There also will be a $250 raffle and more than $700 worth of door prizes given away. Pizza, desserts, beer and other drinks will be for sale. DJ Chuck Steel will provide entertainment.
Only 200 tickets will be sold for the event. They may be purchased in advance by mailing checks to the Pickerington Lions Club, 8150 Garden Drive, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Guests also may pay at the door. For more information, email Larry Twyman, club treasurer, at lionLTwyman@yahoo.com.
The Violet Township Women’s League’s Style Show will be held April 14 at Berwick Party House. Doors open at 11 a.m. Tickets are $25.
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased from league members or by calling L. Burris at (614) 755-8855. The organization is giving away three $2,000 scholarships, which Violet Township area students may apply for by checking with their school counselors.
Humane Society benefit
Paul Clark of the Paul Clark Stage and Summertime Band will host a benefit, “Rock-Roll-Remember,” Feb. 19 at Screamin’ Willies, 1921 Channingway Center Drive, Columbus.
The band will perform at the event. All proceeds will benefit the humane society.
Other performers include Flashback, The Original Majestics Quartet, members of Metronomes and Circus, The Emeralds, and members of San Hendrin Move.
Doors open at noon and music begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, available through Ticketmaster and the Licking County Humane Society. Attendees must be 21 and older.

Caregiver support groups
The Alzheimer’s Association holds a caregiver support group at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at Reynoldsburg UMC, 1636 Graham Road. This is a new date and time for this group. For more information, contact Michelle Crum at (614) 501-1300.
The association also holds another caregiver support group at 10 a.m. the third Friday of the month at Parkside at Wesley Ridge, 2225 S.R. 256, Reynoldsburg. For more information, contact Kathy Todd at (614) 866-7212.
Support groups are for family members, caregivers and friends of people with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders. These groups provide participants with an opportunity to discuss caregiving challenges and share helpful tips, while receiving support from others who are in similar situations.

Brookwood Presbyterian Church will hold an Agape Feast or Love Feast on the Saturdays of Lent (Feb. 25 through March 31). The events will be held at 5 p.m. at the church, located at 2685 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus.
The Agape Feast will consist of a casual worship service with a soup and sandwich supper, a song and distribution of a bag of food to each individual attending.
