Hilltop resident wins conservation award
Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District (FSWCD) awarded a conservation stewardship award on Oct. 27 to Hilltop resident Janice Williams.
Williams was recognized for her efforts to promote the Columbus GreenSpot Rain Barrel Program. Williams educated her neighbors about the benefits of harvesting rainwater.
She also helped neighbors register for the in-person workshops and visited FSWCD offices several times to pick up rain barrels for neighbors without transportation.
