The Madison County Agricultural Society will host their third annual farm toy show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 25 in the Green Building on the Madison County Fairgrounds, 205 Elm St., London.
Organizer John Hammond has lined up 20 vendors from Kentucky to Missouri and all over Ohio. They will fill more than 50 tables with items to buy, sell or trade.
“You’ll see vintage toys from the 1940s and ‘50s up to today’s new in-the-box toys,” Hammond said.
The show attracts all ages, from adults looking for something that represents the equipment they farmed with to children looking for a fun toy to play with.
Visitors can choose from among highly detailed collectibles, toys ready for play, pedal tractors, and even some race car and semi trailer themed items. The toys come in 1/64th, 1/32nd, 1/16th and 1/8 scale, essentially running from two to three inches long up to 18 inches long.
“The vendors we have—all these guys are tops in my book as far as being helpful,” Hammond said. “They want to help you find what you’re looking for, not just sell you what they’ve got.”
In addition to the toy vendors, Franklin Equipment will be on site, displaying actual tractors and mowers. Also, food concessions will be available for purchase.
Admission to the show is $2 per person. Children ages 10 and younger who are accompanied by a paying adult are admitted at no charge.
Proceeds from the show’s admission fees and vendor booth rentals go toward improvements at the fairgrounds.
